A Thanksgiving Poem

More Than A Day
As Thanksgiving Day rolls around,
It brings up some facts, quite profound.
We may think that we’re poor,
Feel like bums, insecure,
But in truth, our riches astound.
We have friends and family we love;
We have guidance from heaven above.
We have so much more
Than they sell in a store,
We’re wealthy, when push comes to shove.
So add up your blessings, I say;
Make Thanksgiving last more than a day.
Enjoy what you’ve got;
Realize it’s a lot,
And you’ll make all your cares go away.

Though I don’t share the same views with the author I like this poem.
We may have wealth or maybe not so much, but if we are alive and have a place to live, food to eat, and family to love, we are blessed and are rich.
Our possessions aren’t what give us value, it’s who you are as a person, your heart what makes you important. God created us and gives new mercies each day, a new day to start fresh and a life to live out the reason we were created for.
So if we are alive and have breath in us, we have something to be thankful for.
May God bless you and may you have a wonderful day!
