The hardest lesson I learned about Life.

Hello again dear reader. Today I am challenging myself to answer this question, what is the hardest lesson I learned about _______. So here it goes!

The hardest lesson I learned about life is that hardship is a part of life and no one is exempt from it. Ouch 😓 especially when you’re a kid.

Here’s a story:

When I was 17, in my High school years… I had a depressive breakdown and had to be hospitalized and then they took me to a children’s psychiatric hospital, I was there for 8 days. By the eighth day I was ready to go home already! And I did go home that Monday by the way.

And struggled with depression for some years and then acquired anxiety so that slowed things down for me, or at least that’s what I used to think. What I mean by saying that it slowed things down I mean I didn’t get to go to college, I barely finished high school!

But I am grateful for the way things turned out during those years. I helped in my church and worked as a part time office assistant. But back in 2007 I think in my circle of people mental health was taboo or something not many people knew much about and how to get better either.

Thankfully we all know, hopefully that to workout and walk and getting sunlight and nutrition are some of the best medicines for your mental health and for health in general.

I used to wonder why did God allow that hard season to happen to me? Well now that I look back I think that God was awakening me to the reality of life, to my need of Him and of His grace.

When you are a teen you basically are still a kid even if you think inside of your head that you’re all grown up, nope 🙂‍↔️ still a kid.

I do think it was an awakening of the soul for me, when this happened. I was very naive or very pure of heart as a teenager. Had a lot of growing up to do and things to learn.

I will tell you though, in my 30 + years of existence that has not been my only struggle or hardship. We all go through this and you are not alone. We are here in this together. We are human and to be human is to have adversity in life.

I believe that if you ask the hard questions to God who by the way is not scared of your questions whatever they may be, and ask Him to guide you in your way, He will. He will show you the truth and the answers to your questions you just have to have an open heart and you will see.

He says in the Bible, “You will seek me and find me, when you seek me with all your heart.” Jeremiah‬ ‭29‬:‭13‬ ‭ESV‬‬

I believe that we were made each with a unique purpose.

Figure out your purpose and use it to serve others and for the good of others.

You are talented and God has given each of us gifts to use to serve others as well.

“For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.” Ephesians‬ ‭2‬:‭10‬ ‭ESV‬‬

TL;DR
Hardship is a part of life and no one is exempt. Also to ask God the hard questions and doubts and He will answer your questions. Have an open heart and search for Him and you will find Him. Get out there and live your life to the fullest! You were made for this life and someone needs to hear your life story.

I hope that made sense and was helpful in some way! 😆
Sending love and blessings,

Sara.

“For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.”
‭‭Jeremiah‬ ‭29‬:‭11‬ ‭ESV‬‬
